Our Methodology

How ServicePal evaluates local service providers.

Our Goal

Our mission is to help consumers make more confident decisions when hiring local service professionals. We aim to provide transparent, data-driven insights — not advertisements or sponsored rankings.

Data Sources

ServicePal uses publicly available data from business profiles, including:

  • Customer ratings and review counts
  • Review activity and recency
  • Business profile details and completeness
  • Responsiveness to customer reviews
  • Operating hours and availability information
  • General business visibility signals

We do not receive private data from businesses.

Scoring Model

Each business receives a ServicePal Score between 0 and 100. Scores are calculated using a weighted model that considers multiple reliability indicators, including:

  • Customer satisfaction signals (ratings and reviews)
  • Consistency and recency of feedback
  • Business engagement with customers
  • Transparency of profile information
  • Availability and accessibility

Scores are relative to other businesses in the same market.

Confidence Levels

Every score includes a confidence label:

High ConfidenceComprehensive data across multiple indicators
Medium ConfidenceModerate data coverage
Limited DataIncomplete information available

Confidence helps users understand how much information supports a ranking.

Independence

Businesses cannot pay to influence rankings. ServicePal does not sell placement positions or accept compensation in exchange for rankings.

Updates

Rankings are updated periodically as new information becomes available.

Important Disclaimer

ServicePal provides informational insights only. We do not guarantee the quality, pricing, or performance of any service provider. Consumers should independently verify credentials and suitability before hiring.
